Across thensky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, hennoticed two sets of footprints in the sand: onenbelonging to him, and the other to the Lord. Whennthe last scene of his life flashed before him, henlooked back at the footprints in the sand. Hennoticed that many times along the path of his lifenthere was only one set of footprints. He also noticednthat it happened at the very lowest and saddestntimes in his life. This really bothered him and henquestioned the Lord about it. "Lord, You said thatnonce I decided to follow you, You'd walk with me allnthe way. But I have noticed that during the mostntroublesome times in my life, there is only one setnof footprints. I don't understand why when I needednyou most you would leave me." The Lord replied,n"My son, My precious child, I love you and I wouldnnever leave you. During your times of trial andnsuffering, when you see only one set of footprints, itnwas then that I Carried You."nnnthe end
