Hello! I need some advise on modifying canon camera, I am thinking of getting a old canon d60 for modifying. What is a good IR filter to be placed into the body? I have a hoya ir 72. Havnt found anyone in singapore who does modifying yet, so i need all the advise you can give! Thanks!

May, I hope the explanation by Mr.H answers your question.You already seen the results from my D50, so expect more or less the same from a modified Canon camera. As you said it was a bit sepia-ish but we can fine tune the WB to get any results we want.Sometimes it is rather unflexible having the special glass installed directly in front of the sensor since we cannot try and experiment with many aftermarket filters that's available. But for my needs (which I believe also what you have in mind) I opt for the luxury of being able to compose through the viewfinder rather than to fiddle with filters everytime I want to shoot IR. I won't be using the camera for other purposes than IR so a filter in front of the lens is fine by me.Also, from what I've seen so far the so-called V5 by Mr.H still leaves many visible light through, so should you need to experiment with another filter in front of the lens it still gives a notifiable result.For me, I shoot IR for the wide dynamic range (far beyond visible light) and because I am unable to find a satisfactory B/W solution since turning to digital. IR is the new B/W ^:)^

anak2 singapur "benci" ir oprekan... mereka bilang mereka suka efek daun ketiup angin karena low speed... dan mereka suka banget ngesandwich foto warna dan ir yang oprekan gak bisa... tapi dalam hati kecilnya mereka pengen ngoprek juga cuman di singapur gak ada harlim =))

Memang,ngesandwich foto IR dan foto normal adalah keasyikan yang "hilang" semenjak memakai kamera oprekan...
