A dusty street of Quetta as seen against a gloomy sunset.....................This photograph I took on August 1, 1976 during a several months lasting overland trip from Europe to South-East Asia. At that time the road from Kandahar in Afghanistan to Quetta in Pakistan was the main traffic line for people and cargo between these two neighbouring countries. It was easy to travel by regular and frequent busses. Nowadays this area insecure, unaccessible by public transport and nearly completely controlled by the Taliban. Quetta, just across the boarder to Afghanistan nowadays a stronghold of Islamic fundamentalists and supporters of Osama Bin Laden....................................................... ....................................P.S.:In order to avoid misunderstanding as this could be seen from the comment of my dear friend Haris Wijaya I like to add that I naturally very well distinguish between the overwhelming majority of good hearted moslems and those who choose terror as response to sometimes arrogant and imperialistic looking behaviour of a superpower. In order to be convinced that me not only look CNN you can have a look at this http://www.angelfire.com/jazz/stwb/IntCallEnggo.html...... ....In the meantime this misunderstanding very well settled and for sure Haris will be happy to upgrade his comment to 3 TU in order I can win a better "nilai" (joke only:-))

duh foto-fotonya bagus banget sih.
Nice captured ! The moment is natural, like the dust & light :)
Just perfect ! Like National Geographic's one.
suasananya unik...
great picture anyway... you just capture what you feel it's a great moment
Nice moment, nice pic, great...
Your picture just came from another level of art, it's way up there mate! keep that art on...
love the lighted dusty air.
Honestly, at first I want to give 3TU for this beautiful picture, but then I saw this that make me sad "Quetta, just across the boarder to Afghanistan nowadays a stronghold of Islamic fundamentalists and supporters of Osama Bin Laden" Why many western people always had stereotype in their mind that Islam is identic with fundamentalist??? In my capacity as a Moslem I wanna ask you , Sir, have you (or your friends) ever disturbed by any Moslem while your adventure in the country where Moslem is the majority? Or you only watch tv and being brain storming by CNN news? I'm sorry if my comment is little bit emotional (and excuse my poor english) , but I beg you to look everything from another angle before you wrote it in public area (such as FN where people around the world can access it)... Thank's
Excellent picture!
wow...seperti misty" gitu kesannya nice catch..nice moment
angin berdebu yang terkena sinar matahari-nya memperkuat nuansa dramatis foto ini ...
lovely shot.. i like the mood of this picture.. very well composed and nice tone too..
Dramatische Beleuchtung, passende Komposition. Kein Wort außerdem: gut genomen.
wah, foto jurnalistik benar-benar bagus...
Gefällt mir sehr, wieder mal helmut's Reportage aus der anderen Kultur
waw.. saya suka sekali.. dengan nuansa dan lighting seperti ini.. banget sekali
it's really marvelous foto you got. nice shoo man!
komposisi cakep meneer.. kontrol cahayanya tepat nice captured nicely executed
i like this photo. I feel the peaceful with this picture, opposite with the actual condition.
Saya suka sekali foto ini, pictorial yang bagus, mungkin jika anda mengambilnya kesebelah kiri sedikit akan lebih sempurna sehingga ruang kosong ditengah bisa terisi.
This pictrure really puts me there. I can almost feel the dust and the environment. The lady in burka on the right strengthen the overall image.
The dusty wind composes with the people very well. Good work. The title "Sudah hampir malam di Quetta" means it was almost dark night there. But I can see the shadows is not oblique enough. May be it's 45-60 degrees. Still need a couple of hours to dark. "Sore di Quetta" (afternoon At Quetta) is better IMHO. But why should you use Indonesian Bahasa for the titling, instead of English?
Suasananya damai ya...
i like it
